Atmospheres is an interdisciplinary program that explores the hybridization of the arts. It is a collection of contemporary proposals that defy easy categorization, speaking to us of different ways of seeing and showing, of seeking and understanding beauty. We are inspired by Peter Zumthor's concept of "atmosphere," which links emotional sensitivity to our perception of things.

On ropes

This time we will learn about the project of the artist Alicia Soto and the musician Abdellah M. Hassak.
Sobre cuerdas (On Strings)
is a sound installation in performance format that proposes an immersive, emotional, and participatory experience. On stage, a dancer and a musician share an unconventional performance space, where contemporary dance and live electronic music intertwine with the active presence of the audience.
Alicia Soto proposes a break with traditional stage structures, generating a lively and changing dialogue between three protagonists: movement, sound and the audience.
The audience is invited not only to observe and listen, but also to participate, to become part of the development of the work: to move, speak, physically participate in the choreography, and even modify the stage space. This interaction generates a collective and unrepeatable creation, where each performance becomes a new experience.

Alicia Soto holds a degree in Choreography and Performance from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. She pursued postgraduate studies at the Folkwang Hochschule (Essen, Germany) under the direction of Pina Bausch, and at The Place School (London). She has trained with leading contemporary dance teachers both in Spain and abroad.
She has participated in academic and university institutions in Portugal and Spain, has been Delegate of Dance in the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain and President of the Jury of Communities of the MAX Awards, the national awards of the performing arts in Spain, among others.
Co-founder of Hojarasca Danza (1994) and artistic director of Alicia Soto–Hojarasca since 2000. Her work combines dance, theater and new technologies.
She maintains an active international career as a choreographer, teacher, lecturer, and artistic advisor.

Abdellah M. Hassak, born in Casablanca, Morocco, is a sound artist, music producer, and artistic director. In 2014, he founded Mahattat Radio.
Her practice focuses on sound as a creative material for pieces, performances, and installations, with a strong emphasis on listening, memory, and the relationship between human beings and their natural or urban environments. Her work has been presented or broadcast on radio and in institutions.
He is co-founder and artistic director of the NGO 4S', responsible for the FeMENA project, which promotes the professionalization of the local music industry in Morocco.
Under the alias Guedra Guedra , he develops an Afrofuturist musical project that combines field recordings, tribal basses and ancestral rhythms.
