On Friday, December 19th, at 6:30 pm, we will be screening a selection of short films to celebrate "The Shortest Day".

The Shortest Day [ED+C] is an annual European event that will arrive in our country on Sunday, December 21, 2025, the day of the winter solstice, thanks to the Spanish Short Film Coordinator.

The first edition was held in France in 2011. Two years later, the Spanish Short Film Coordinator organised the first edition of [ED+C] in Spain. And year after year, it has attracted thousands of spectators. Our country is the only one to celebrate this event in a novel format: simultaneous streaming film screenings throughout the country, open and free of charge at the initiative of institutions, companies and individuals for 24 hours.

This year, the Leon Public Library joins this event by screening high-quality short films on diverse and contemporary themes. These include shorts fresh from the festival circuit, widely awarded, and those already considered landmarks in Spanish cinema.
