The Glass Graduate is the eighth exemplary novel we have staged as part of our CERVANTES PROJECT, a challenge and a commitment to which we dedicate ourselves to disseminating and bringing the heritage of Spanish literature closer to all audiences, as an act of both delight and cultural responsibility. The Glass Graduate tells the story of Tomás Rodaja, a poor boy who goes to study in Salamanca with his employers before traveling through Italy and Flanders. Upon returning to Salamanca to finish his studies, he is poisoned by a lady who seeks his love. As a consequence, he goes mad, believing he is made of glass. A curious case of madness, that of a man who, driven by his love of literature, seeks to honor his parents, and society in general, through knowledge. The Glass Graduate is a novel as original as it is extraordinary, constantly reminding us of Cervantes and his life's journey.
