Artist: Olimpia Velasco

Olimpia Velasco (Madrid, 1970) lives and works in Mallorca. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, where she also completed doctoral coursework, as well as at TEI Athinon, Athens (Socrates Scholarship). She also holds a diploma in Graphic Design from the Spanish Center for New Professions in Madrid.

Approaches to the representation of the Castilian landscape in the work of the Vaquero family.

This exhibition, which takes its title from the poetry collection by Juan Ramón Jiménez, Animal de fondo, who was a friend and companion in New York of Joaquín Vaquero Palacios, aims to highlight the intense influence that the city of Segovia and its Castilian surroundings had on the work of the Vaquero family.
