She's in shock. Her fifteen-year-old daughter has just confessed that she's not a girl; she's a boy. She'll no longer be Alejandra, she'll be who she truly is: Alex. Therapy, support groups—nothing is enough to help her accept the fact that her daughter will no longer be her daughter, and denial, resistance, and frustration take hold, fueled by the pain of this change. However, everything changes when the police arrive at the house, accusing Alex of sexual abuse.

This unexpected event pushes our protagonist to embark on a frantic race to try to understand her son and protect him from everything that wants to corner him, destroy him, and steal his identity and his rights as a human being.
