Among his numerous articles are 'Biological Species and Ethical Deliberation' (Latin American Journal of Bioethics, 2010), 'Learning by Doing: Paideia and Phronesis in Aristotle' (Educaçao, 2011), and 'Science at the Limit' (Investigación y Ciencia, 2012). He has taught and lectured at many Spanish and international universities. He has even written a delightful historical novel: Aristotle's Testament: Memoirs from Exile.
"I will first present a critical view of the 2030 Agenda, highlighting both its positive and negative aspects. Then, I will explore the latter from the perspective of human ecology. I will analyze the concept of sustainable development, central to a document entitled the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It seems that without a certain understanding of human nature and a theory of happiness, we could hardly define what we mean by development. Consequently, it would be clearer to speak of human development than of sustainable development. This will be followed by a reflection on the concept of temporality inherent in the expression 'sustainable development' and in the very notion of 'agenda.'"
Free admission until full capacity.
