The Castilian project of Carlos Soto, founder and flautist of Celtas Cortos, who together with the singer Laura Pérez and the guitarist Miguel Fraile bring us closer to the vocal and instrumental repertoire of Castilla y León.
An open window from Castile onto other musical traditions. With tradition as their guiding principle, they craft a new language as a trio, drawing from folk music. Their music is nourished by all the cultures that have passed through the Iberian Peninsula over the centuries; Sephardic music, Mudéjar art, and Celtic music blend with Mediterranean and Atlantic influences.
Carlos Soto's work has won the Agapito Marazuela Award for New Folk Creation . It has also been praised by Radio 3 for its proven quality and its continuous search for new languages based on tradition, and described by Joaquín Díaz as virtuosity with an inspiring naturalness.
