In a not-so-near future where humans rely on robots, Max, a former teacher with a dislike for technology, makes ends meet with her daughter through petty schemes. She hatches a plan: kidnap a state-of-the-art robot and sell it for parts. But everything goes awry. Flanked by this exasperating robot, she embarks on a chase to find her daughter and prove that there's still a glimmer of humanity left in this world.
