Adolfo Álvarez Barthe (Leon, 1964) presents Assumption , an exhibition that brings together his latest creations with works from previous periods. This concept is found in all the pieces, even those that seem most static, with the aim of breaking free from the format and achieving a higher plane. At the same time, this assumption resides within each of us, within ourselves: it is a purifying self-analysis. The artist has managed to connect with his time through a meticulous dissection of all accumulated knowledge. He has succeeded in stripping away everything superfluous in composing his unique iconographic universe in a movement that always seeks elevation.

Mathematics, the proportions of the human body, and the luminosity of that same body help Adolfo Álvarez Barthe (Leon, 1964) to express the splendor and mystery of the world. Obeying Tradition has not prevented him from feeling free in the turbulent world of painting technique. He has revived ancient techniques just as he has incorporated new materials into his work.

The abundance of historical, poetic, and mythological references does not detract from the visual appeal of his work. Obsessed with forging new and old paths toward a more complete vision, the painter creates luminous works where enigmas and symbols require no explanation. Contemplation is the only option.
