Aranda de Duero is the capital of the Ribera del Duero region in Burgos province. Beneath its surface lies one of the largest networks of underground wineries in the region, a subterranean city that serves as a reminder of the town's winemaking history, a tradition that continues to thrive today.

Among the monumental complex of Aranda de Duero, the Church of Santa María and the Church of San Juan Bautista stand out. The Palacio de los Verdugo is a prime example of Aranda's civil architecture, complementing the Plaza Mayor and the medieval Puente de las Tenerías bridge over the Bañuelos River. The Sanctuary of the Virgen de las Viñas houses the image of the patron saint of Aranda de Duero.
