Trust in the invisible

Trusting in the Invisible is an exhibition that explores the work of Venancio Blanco through a direct and personal approach, revealing how Blanco conceived of his artistic practice as a duty, something that transcended the individual and became a vital commitment. His work is born from gesture and the hand, but is sustained by intuition, dedication, and a passion for his craft. As he himself stated: "The studio is the place where dreams are breathed and your illusions take shape."

In this sense, the proposal seeks to delve into Venancio Blanco's unwavering faith in art, understood as a profound confidence in the power of artistic practice. This faith not only frames his artistic trajectory but is also reflected in the way he confronted the mysteries of his time, striving to understand and give form to them through his work. Observing his sculptures, drawings, prints, and paintings reveals the patience, perseverance, and dedication that sustained his entire career. As the artist himself stated, "Drawing teaches you to look, to learn to see." This confidence is also reflected in his understanding of the world, from the natural landscapes he recreated in his drawings to the sculptures inspired by the music he listened to, demonstrating that each work is a search for meaning in the face of what he saw and what surrounded him.

Exploring the work and creative process of Venancio Blanco means entering a territory where faith plays a central role. It is not merely a religious dimension, but a vital attitude that permeates his way of creating and seeing the world. Blanco understood artistic practice as a form of trust, an openness to the invisible that guides both the sculptor's hand and the viewer's perception.
