Comic book author Manuel Antonio García Iglesias will discuss his book Eternity.

This comic is based on a story of the same name by Ricardo Menéndez Salmón, which won awards for its literary power. Manuel A. García Iglesias translates it into the language of comics with intelligent respect and a unique perspective. He doesn't simply illustrate; he builds, interprets, and transforms. The result is a book that stands on its own: delicate, unsettling, and full of nuance. A comic that leaves a lasting impression.

Manuel Antonio García Iglesias 'Rufus ' (1967, Salamanca) resides in Gijón / Salamanca and holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and in artistic studies at the Künsgewerbeschule in Zurich, Switzerland.

He was a drawing and painting teacher in Gijón, a muralist, and an illustrator for various themed museums in Asturias. He has won several comic book awards from local councils, was a finalist for the Angoulême grants in 2017, and for the Castelao Prize in 2016. He has created graphic works for the Quirós Ethnographic Museum, the Salmon House in Pravia, and the Semana Negra (Black Week) festival, among others, where he created the central mural for the Encuentros tent for five years and contributed to two of its catalogs. His first graphic novel in Spanish , *La batalla de Esquizo* (The Battle of Schizo) , published in 2019 by Nuevo Nueve, addresses the topic of schizophrenia, and in 2017 his first graphic novel in French, a biography of Albert Einstein, was published in France and Switzerland. In 2021, he won the Cantabria Government Award for Best Graphic Novel with *Enlaces* (Links), a story about three women who act as liaisons with the Cantabrian maquis in the years following the Spanish Civil War. for The Battle of Schizo; in November 2025 he won an honorable mention in the comic contest promoted by the Association of Friends of the Museum of Fine Arts of Oviedo with his work Glimpses of the Magic Labyrinth.

Like Eternity, this work has been read by all the book clubs at the Salamanca Library. We're not talking about a mere lecture, but rather a meeting between the author and his readers. We'll discuss the creative process, the dialogue between literature and comics, and comics and music.

They will take place in the Library's Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.

Free admission and participation.
