The Sacred Heart of Palencia is commonly known as Christ of Otero due to its location overlooking the city of Palencia. Its position and posture, standing 21 meters tall, seem to protect the city and its inhabitants.

This monument, the work of the Palencia sculptor Victorio Macho, was inaugurated in 1931 and since then it has identified the city and surprised those who find it on their way.

The lecture by Alfredo Trigueros Andrés and Arona Garley will delve into different aspects of this monument at whose feet its sculptor rests.
