" They didn’t count on the mothers. The struggle of thousands of families against the trans phenomenon " is the title of the latest book by feminist journalist Nuria Coronado Sopeña, which compiles the struggle of feminists, scientists, lawyers, and psychologists who " are giving their all so that Spanish society knows the irreversible damage of transgenderism to the mental and physical health of minors ."
The work originated as a tribute to the Amanda association, made up of mothers of young people with rapid-onset gender dysphoria, but also out of a deontological commitment.
The Feminist Forum of Castilla y León continues with its School of Feminist Thought , a space in which the current context of feminism is analyzed, paying tribute to the women who fought for it before, such as María Teresa Leon, and to those who do so daily.
Nuria Coronado Sopeña is a journalist, writer, speaker, and trainer in non-sexist communication. She is the author of " Mujeres de frente " (Women at the Forefront), " Hombres por la igualdad " (Men for Equality), and " Comunicar en igualdad" (Communicating in Equality ), and the documentary filmmaker behind " Amelia, historia de una lucha" (Amelia, Story of a Struggle ). She was also the recipient of the 2021 Atenea Prize . Her latest book is " No contaban con las madres. La lucha de miles de familias contra el fenómeno trans" (They Didn't Count on Mothers: The Struggle of Thousands of Families Against the Trans Phenomenon) .
