in charge of María Soledad Martín Turiño
Tuesday, May 12, 7:00 p.m."In my work Zamoranas del siglo XX (Women of Zamora in the 20th Century), I will take a journey through the recent history of the past century, breaking down the events that occurred in this century, and focusing on the role that women from Zamora have played in both rural and urban areas; their entry into the university in the first third of the century and a review of some of the women from this province who stood out in different fields of culture, ending with a general breakdown of the present situation and the future prospects of women from Zamora in today's society."
Mª Soledad Martín Turiño, I was born in Zamora and, although I have lived away for many years, my love for my land and my commitment to it have always been present; hence I have published several books with themes from this land (short stories and poetry), and published hundreds of opinion articles in the Zamora newspapers: "El Periódico de Castilla y León" (EPCyL), "La Opinión de Zamora" and "El Día de Zamora"; as well as numerous poems and stories in "El Portal de la Tierra del Pan"; in these last two I continue to collaborate regularly to this day.
Literature has been another of my passions since I began my studies in Hispanic Philology; that is why I have researched the existing bibliography in the province, preparing a "Digital guide of bibliographic references on linguistic aspects of the province of Zamora, broken down by regions" published by the Institute of Zamoran Studies (IEZ) in its 2022 Yearbook.
I have also presented the following lectures at the Zamora Public Library: "Zamora, land of nobles and lords" (October 2024), and "Clay in the traditional culture of Zamora" (June 2025)
All my writings, articles, poems or stories, have the purpose of placing Zamora in its rightful place, from my modest contribution, valuing its linguistic, cultural, historical strengths etc.
