From Friday, May 8, 2026, to June 1, 2026, enjoy the new temporary exhibition entitled "Shared Perspectives in African Art." A unique and different exhibition, in which the Arellano Alonso Museum of African Art at the University of Valladolid , using reproductions of traditional African coins that you can usually see in the Rectors' Hall, shares space with the painter Fernando Bayo. Bayo contributes a dozen canvases dedicated to these reproductions, but also to the Kingdom of Oku in Cameroon, which, interestingly, are being exhibited for the first time as they represent a new reinterpretation by the artist. If we add to all this the fact that the exhibition is being held at the headquarters of "El Barco de la Esgueva," the idea is fully realized, as its participants will also be exhibiting the handcrafted works they have created at the museum during their weekly visits throughout this academic year—African masks full of color and texture that will surprise you. They are, in short, their perspective and contribution to the vision of African art. In conclusion, don't miss this special and unique exhibition, full of collaborations and shared perspectives on the African world, which you can enjoy until June 1, 2026. Don't let this opportunity pass you by and visit "Shared Perspectives on Africa"!
It will be held at "EL BARCO DE LA ESGUEVA", c/ Palacio Valdés 1 - 3
