As part of the On Photo Soria Festival, the exhibition "Six Archive Views", organized by the Provincial Historical Archive of Soria, can be visited from May 14th until August 12th, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This exhibition is born not from accumulation, but from synthesis. "Six Archival Views" proposes a journey through memory by way of the evolution of visual language and its media. From the time Joseph Nicéphore Niépce immortalized the first landscape from his window in 1826, or Louis Daguerre presented his "mirror with memory" on polished silver in 1839, photography has revolutionized our way of inhabiting the world.

This exhibition brings together the essence of six projects that were independently displayed on these walls as part of the On Photo Soria festival. Today, these perspectives converge to offer a unified vision of the holdings of the Provincial Historical Archive of Soria, which houses over 60,000 photographs. Through a carefully curated selection of glass plates, negatives, and positives, we invite viewers to rediscover the legacy of masters such as Manuel Lafuente Caloto, Tiburcio Crespo, Aurelio Pérez Rioja, and Salvador Vives.

From the solemnity of the glass plate portrait to the spontaneity that Kodak made possible in 1888, photography in Soria has captured both domestic intimacy and studio rigor. These images range from documented landscapes to capturing the "decisive moment," leaving a graphic record where the medium and the perspective evolve in step with our society.

To mark the tenth anniversary of the On Photo Soria festival, this exhibition takes on an exceptional character, presented as a commemorative anthology. The current exhibition stems from meticulous retrospective work, recovering and compiling the best photographs from previous editions in this archive. It is a reunion that condenses ten years of perspectives into a single collective experience.
