Mosquitoes are the main vectors of pathogens that affect the health of people and animals. Factors of global change, including climate change and changes in land use, such as urbanization, affect different mosquito species and their interactions with the pathogens they can transmit in varying ways. This talk will present, in an accessible style, the importance of these insects and the factors that affect their interactions with people and animals.
