Belver Yin

Bélver Yin was formed in Salamanca in the late 80s and early 90s, led by Pedro Luis Ortega.

The group's name is a direct homage to "Bélver Yin" (1981), the celebrated first novel by the writer from Zamora, Jesús Ferrero, set in an enigmatic China.

In 1991 they released their debut album, "Luz Bel", under the small label Noisex Music. It was an almost entirely instrumental album, full of echoing guitars and drum machines.

Bélver Yin's story took an incredible turn a few years ago. In 2020, the prestigious Australian record label Efficient Space (specializing in unearthing hidden gems of ambient and alternative music from around the world) discovered "Luz Bel," was captivated, and reissued it worldwide. Thanks to this, the Salamanca-based group went from being a local secret to being played on independent radio stations in New York, Japan, and Australia.

"For my mother" (2023) is his latest work.

This time, he'll offer us a twist on the more alternative 80s: crystalline and reverberating guitars, post-punk, dark, dream-pop , shoegaze , and other pleasant surprises…
