Winner of the 2024 Godot Award for Best Show in the Madrid Community Theatre Network. This story reinterprets the established roles in classic fairy tales with Valentina, a princess who rescues herself; Rimas, the gardener who longs to be a valiant knight but is a sensitive soul; King Calmodio, who complains constantly about food but never cooks and must learn to appreciate care; and Artimañas, the dragon who appears to be an evil beast but, through heart-to-heart communication, reveals himself to be simply someone who is very lonely and very angry. With a captivating plot and delightful characters, this exciting story teaches the importance of trusting in children's potential and the need to allow them to face challenges and overcome obstacles, so they can be free to discover themselves beyond prejudice and pretense. This play addresses themes relevant to the educational field: co-education through a critical lens on archetypal characters in stories, reflection on the value of care and the need to distribute it equitably, peaceful conflict resolution, the possibility of agreement and understanding among different people, empathy as a solution to problems, and the search for identity and personal freedom in the face of social conditioning.
