Technically, González has dedicated himself to teaching resilience courses long before the word was even in use. His aim is for students to learn to think critically, to make sense of what happens to them, to develop coping mechanisms for when things aren't going well, to speak in public... Although, as expected, one of his most compelling roles is working with people at risk of social exclusion.
That's why her stories go further: "They told me that, besides being stories, they were a way of remaking history," she points out. And that may be true, but it's also true that reading is about finding new ways of thinking, a lot of entertainment, but something that leaves a residue, a mark in the form of conclusions or questions. Because if it doesn't, then it's not literature. Although that would be another story, that is, another tale.
