On Friday, September 18 , at 7:00 p.m. , in the Auditorium of the Public Library of Palencia , the theater company La Quimera de Plástico This link will open in a pop-up window. presents the work The Wars of Our Ancestors by Miguel Delibes in a theatrical version by Miguel Delibes and Ramón García , directed by Lisa Hurtado and performed by Juan Manuel Pérez and Javier Bermejo .

In 1961, at the Navafría Penitentiary Sanatorium, Pacífico Pérez, suffering from tuberculosis, is imprisoned for murder and is about to be tried and presumably sentenced to death by garrote for another crime. Dr. Burgueño, hoping to help him, convinces him to talk about his life, as he senses that some undiscovered mystery lies behind Pacífico and his actions.

Pacífico has lived surrounded by an environment of aggression and violence because his Great-Grandmother, his Grandmother and his Father are marked by the various wars in which they have intervened.
