On Wednesday, October 21st, at 7:00 PM, a theater performance, "En el llano" by La Chana Teatro, will be held in our Newspaper Library for adult audiences.

Rulfo is the purest substance and the infinite desert; the infinite desert of substance. A desert is an infinity broken down into infinite grains of sand. That grain which we nearsighted people can glimpse as the thing most like an atom. And in that tremendous ignorance of science, one plunges into a dune, first known, then ignored, where the storms are greater than in the ocean; although on the plain there are only rivers, and only sometimes; only when God decides it should rain. We don't know the reason for that attraction to poverty, injustice, and orphanhood. We suppose there is something like lignin, that substance that binds the fibers to make wood, and that substance is what compels us to water a beautiful tree, even though it feeds on thick sap, on sap of dust.
Three stories, three tales, three testimonies from the plains that narrate the orphanhood and desolation of its deserts.

The activity is part of the BiblioEscena 2026 program: performing arts in the library , promoted by the General Directorate of Cultural Policies of the Junta de Castilla y León, in which theater companies linked to ARTESA (Association of Performing Arts Companies of Castilla y León) participate.
