To the north of the town is the Castro de El Cerco declared in 2013 as a well of cultural interest with the category of archaeological zone for being one of the exponents of the way of life of the first village communities in the Aliste region.

This site has a long and uninterrupted human occupation that begins in the Iron Age and lasts until Roman times. Archaeological surveys have revealed the existence of defensive structures and indications of metallurgical activity that have been dated to the first Iron Age, as well as others from later times that could become Roman.
