Stones with legends to tell
Castle of Monteagudo de las Vicarias
This is a pentagonal castle, perfectly adapted to the side of a hilltop, where stands the fortified village. The rebuilt interior courtyard and the straight-lintel windows date from the 16th century and the tower of homage has an octagonal ground plan.
The castle was mostly built by Juan Hurtado de Mendoza. His son made the coat of arms located above the village gate.
