It is one of the few examples of bastioned architecture preserved in the province of Zamora, built between the XVII and XVIII centuries and related to the defensive fortresses of the Portuguese-Spanish border. The works of archaeological excavation and the subsequent consolidation allowed recovering a part of this rectangular fortress.
