The municipality of Rioseras dates from the XI century or earlier. It keeps in the centre of the village a fortification, now used as housing, which has changed its original appearance. It was built by the Güemes, who kept a Casa Fuerte next to it.

The Tower with masonry, ashlars in the corners, has some openings pointed in its walls, formerly with loopholes, which have nowadays disappeared by the reforms. It is a small fort that still allows to be enjoyed by its inhabitants, keeping part of the charm that once had.
