Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer made his mark on several of the towns in the province of Soria. One such example is Noviercas. The local towns, villages and people were the inspiration for the magnificent tales of this Seville-born poet, including The White Deer, which unfolds in Beratón, at the foot of Mount Moncayo.
Bécquer’s poetry describes specific and characteristic features of the province of Soria, included in verses that will forever remain amongst the most important literary works ever written.
