Burgos Castle, standing proudly on a hilltop, is the starting point for this route that discovers the origins of the city. After passing by several of Burgos’ city gates, visitors will come across monuments commemorating historical figures such as Fernán González, Fray Luis de León or Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, Cid Campeador, the city’s most famous character.

This route includes the following sites of interest: Burgos Castle Museum, San Esteban Gate, Caja de Burgos Art Centre (CAB), the Church of San Esteban, Fernán González Arch, the Monument to the Stubborn One, the Monument to the Cid, San Martín Arch/ the Royal Gate / Juradera Gate.
