During the summer of 1966 a large part of the Burgos region between Salas de los Infantes and Covarrubias was transformed into the distant American West to host the film "The Good, the Ugly and the Bad" by Italian director Sergio Leone.

The rugged and limestone savannah landscapes of the Carazo Rock and the Arlanza Valley captivated the director and his team to convert them by similarity in natural scenarios of New Mexico and the Rio Grande in the area of ¿¿Santa Fe and Glorieta Pass.
