Its name is a tribute to the former Council of Alión, historical region that was located in the northern part of the current municipality of Crémenes, converted into the City Hall of Salamón in 1836. The building that was its headquarters until 1974 now houses this ecomuseum . A territory with an important presence of transhumant activity throughout its history, which has left a deep mark on its cultural legacy and its landscape. We invite you to visit this cozy house, where you can enjoy the journey of merino wool from the Leon ports to the great southern farms; and from shearing to its transformation into warm and sustainable garments. On the first floor of the building, the valuable cultural, social and environmental heritage that revolves around the grazing of the merino sheep, created and preserved by the cattlemen and their animals for hundreds of years, is in the continuous search for the best pastures. In the second, merino wool is the protagonist. Here you can learn about the work and knowledge necessary to convert this unique product into fabric and then clothing, over time, which are a gift for the senses.
