The Zangarron wears a mask of black leather, clothing colors, three cowbells and two bigger cowbells to the back and a stick from which hang three swollen bladders. He must pursue children and elderly. The bladders represent fertility and cowbells are bound to scare the spirits.

The Zangarron is accompanied in procession by the teenagers reaching the legal age this year, ranging in two rows and covered with black cloaks. Zangarron Mission is to protect young people so they can dance.

In 2018 the Zangarrón de Sanzoles Interpretation Center was opened, which can be visited on request. Located inside the Town Hall, it contains a collection of the various costumes used in the Zangarrón Function, as well as a collection of photographs, which allow visitors to learn more about this traditional festival. Along with the commemoration that this center of the Zangarrón makes, there is a sculpture of its mask in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
