Two are the brotherhoods that, founded in the middle of s. XVI, they organize all the acts that take place during the Holy Week of Sahagún: The Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno and Patrocinio of San José and the Brotherhood of the Vera Cruz, today integrated like section in the previous one. Both brotherhoods have been developing since the sixteenth century Holy Week celebrations of exceptional religious, aesthetic and social content, which are maintained, since then and in some of its acts, with the same structure: Auction of the Steps, Farewell, Unhooked ...

Resides its particularity in the way to process the steps, on the shoulders of penitents on wooden boards and following the beat of the drums and drums. Popular participation is another of its peculiarities, as locals and foreigners merge in a celebration that revives the Passion of Our Lord in Jerusalem.

Sahagún Holy Week has its own personality. It is framed within a rich artistic heritage that makes Sahagún the cradle of Mudéjar style and a nerve center on the French Pilgrim way.
