From the original building founded by the Premonstratensian Canon Regulars in the 12th century only the entrance to the chapter house remains, decorated with Romanesque columns and capitals, and the convent library, that was enlarged in the 16th century taking the shape we can see today.

There is an outstanding statue of the Virgen de Nuestra Señora de la Vid, from the 13th century. It is at present inhabited by Augustinian monks.

The Monastery unites several architectural styles although, in general, its features correspond to the late Gothic style. It also has a Plateresque portal from the 16th century and another one of Mudejar style from the 14th century.
