It has a cloister with pointed arches resting on fine paired columns reinforced by buttresses. Founded by the Franciscan order in the 13th century. It held the General Assembly of the kingdom back in the 14th century and it was also the temporal residence of the monarchs.

It has a belfry with two bells and a Gothic rose window. There are also late Mudejar painted coffered ceilings of the late 15th or early 16th century located below the choir and in the sacristy, attributed to Alonso del Manzano.
