A fine example of the Mudejar style
Church of San Martin
This is one of Cuéllar’s most emblematic churches. It was built entirely in the Mudejar style in the 12th century using rough and smooth ashlar masonry, whilst the apse and façade are made of brick. Today it houses the Mudejar Art Visitor Centre.
This is the ideal place to discover how this style emerged simply by making use of the materials available on site, capable of creating practical constructions based on the use of autochthonous elements.
On the outside there is a medieval necropolis of anthropomorphic tombs made of brick. These tombs, like the church, are Mudejar and corresponds to the twelfth century.
