Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Tiermes
Small 12th-century romanesque temple, near which there is a medieval necropolis. The round apse and the porched gallery with rich and varied ornamentation of capitals and modillions are worth seeing.
The sanctuary shrine used to be the church of the monastery of Santa María de Tiermes and then the village parish church, until all its inhabitants left. It was possibly a double monastery because the name Monastery of San Salvador and María de Tiermes is also used. The Santuario de Tiermes, along with the Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Monte de Caracena, was a meeting point for the villages belonging to the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra, who came with their crosses, standards and banners to pay homage to Santa María.
