This route runs along what was known as the market paths, paths used by the residents of Valdeón to go to the fairs and livestock markets in the neighboring region of Liébana. The route has enormous scenic value, as it gradually gains altitude until reaching unbeatable views of the Valdeón and Camaleño valleys. It also represents an approach to the areas where some of the most representative species of the National Park live (bear, wolf, chamois).
