Also known as the Vegamián reservoir, is located in the Porma river, fulfilling a key role in the regulation of the rivers of León: to prevent floods that happened before its inauguration. Its open location facilitates the entry of the winds in all directions, making it a perfect place for water sports such as sailing.

The construction of both the dam and the reservoir, also condemned to isolation of other villages, as Rucayo or Valdehuesa, which were finally linked with the main road by a narrow dirt road, then it was asphalted.
