The reservoir, Central and Ricobayo dam (also known as ‘salto of Ricobayo’ or Esla reservoir) are in the river Esla at less 1 kilometer from Ricobayo de Alba, in the province of Zamora.

The section in which it is located is known as the Arribes del Esla and its most popular area is the beach where a pier, a recreational area with trees, wooden tables and swings for children, are installed and in summer a bar-restaurant is opened to offer its services to the swimmers.
