The Posada is an ancient fortified castle built by the Order of Calatrava which was turned into a stately home in the late 17th century. Today it is in outstanding condition thanks to careful restoration work that has conserved the original structure and materials and which has converted it into a Posada Real.

The building, which lines a cobbled street, features several attracting coats-of-arms on its facade that are of considerable interest, and boasts a large courtyard and several terraces. Alternative activities can also be arranged, hiking lovers can follow the signposted ’General’s Trails’ where they can admire landscapes painted by the General over 50 years ago.
