The Castilian-Leonese Institute of Language is organizing the first session of Esenciales on Tuesday, September 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Palacio de la Isla in Burgos . This new literary series is directed by the writer and literary critic José Ignacio García, which aims to profile nine writers from Castilla y León whose narrative and poetic work makes them essential . In the capital of Burgos, García begins a literary tour that will take him through the nine provinces of Castilla y León over the next few months, sharing his knowledge of the literature of the Community and its main protagonists with the public.

The list of writers that José Ignacio García fixates on is composed of the following names: Jesús Carazo (Burgos, 1944 / Bordeaux / Burgos); Ignacio Sanz (Lastras de Cuéllar, 1953 / Segovia); Gregorio Fernández Castañón (Otero de Curueño, 1956 / Leon); Luis Marigómez (Nava de la Asunción, 1957 / Valladolid); Yolanda Izard (Béjar, 1959 / Valladolid); Luis García Jambrina (Zamora, 1960 / Salamanca); Ramón García Mateos (Salamanca, 1960 / Cambrils); Victoria Pelayo Rapado (Zamora, 1960 / Cáceres) and Gonzalo Calcedo (Palencia, 1961 / Santander).
