Founded by the Duke of Uceda, son of the Duke of Lerma, in 1604 for Clarisas sisters. Outwardly it stands out for its sobriety; The church has a Latin cross plan, with a nave and transept.

Five paintings by Bartolomé Carducho from the beginning of the s. XVII. The most outstanding work is the Christ Yacente of Gregorio Fernández, one of the first Christs of the author.

In June 1610 the infanta Margarita Francisca, daughter of King Felipe III, was baptized in this convent with great solemnity.
