In the heart of the province of Soria, surrounded by an impressive landscape of limestone moors, precipices, trenches and ravines, we find the Fuentona de Muriel.

Also known as "Ojo de Mar" (Eye of the Sea), this beautiful resurgence of karstic origin is the birth of the river Avión. The principal vegetation in this area is the incense juniper, a rare and important botanical species. Nearby is the medieval village of Calatañazor, overshadowed by the beautiful, dominant silhouette of its legendary castle.
