These sites are in the Urbion, Berriasiense-Barrumiense groups (between 128 and 114 million of years) in a place similar to a marshy plain crossed by channels, ponds and lakes. They are located in the Basin of Arlanza River, in the Duero basin, mainly close to the head of small mountain streams.

Besides, the weather conditions contributed even more to the existence of dinosaurs, since there was a tropical or sub-tropical weather with abundant herbaceous vegetation.
