A peculiar sample of Palencia Romanesque style, not due to the single-nave ground plan with a transept and three apses, but to the vaults, the apse end and the decoration.

In 1123 the church became a monastery. Latin cross ground plan and deep presbytery, apse chapels, French style transept vault and scaled central apse. The altar stones, supported by columns, are an interesting decorative feature. Along the ledge are varied canecillos (roof supports) representing flowers, seated figures, balls, rolls and animal heads.
