Sense the centuries of history
Monastery of Santa Clara Palace Pedro I
Monumental complex formed by the Royal Convent of Santa Clara and the church, and the palace museum of Pedro I. The church of Santa Clara was formerly known as church of Nuestra Señora de los Angeles. It was built in the XIV century by Ms. Maria Padilla, mistress of the king Pedro I de Castilla.
It combines Gothic and Mudejar elements, characteristic from different cultures. Its style keeps some similarity to the royal palace of Tordesillas or the royal alcazares of Sevilla. In its elegant façade are Islamic forms, highlighting mullioned windows with horseshoe poly-lobed arches.
