Cantalapiedra was an important border place in medieval times, between Leon and Castilla. Due to its geographical location it should be defended, making necessary the presence of towers and walls.

The fortified tower of the wall represents the remains of the defensive past of the place, a tower with square floor on which there is no roof. It is made with fortified limestone and little light. Clearly with defensive purposes, nowadays it endures, although its state is not very preserved, it still reigns as a symbol of the place, as a defence of the kingdom of Castilla.
