Shota NakanoShota Nakano Shota Nakano obtained his PhD from Tottori University, focusing his research on the symbiotic functions of ectomycorrhizal fungi on host plants.

After completing his doctoral studies, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Agency for Research and Development, Forestry and Forestry Products Research Institute (FFPRI, Japan), where he investigated the physiology, ecology, and cultivation of Japanese truffles. He is currently a senior researcher at the Mushroom Research Laboratory of Hokuto Co., Ltd., a leading mushroom company in Japan, studying the cultivation and breeding of edible ectomycorrhizal mushrooms.
