The day begins at dawn in the gateway where the pilgrims and the carriages stand in preparation for the occasion. To get everybody started at that time in the morning, traditional garlic soup is handed out to all.

After mass is sung, the image of the Cristo del Caloco back to the hermitage. A country mass is held, after which the pilgrimage itself is made, accompanied by the playing of pipes and drums.
